touch of love

everyone

becomes

a poet.”

Haiku:   LOVE

Feeling elated

Words are found inadequate

Beauty everywhere

Elfje:

Touched

By love

Mind is confused

Heart takes the lead

Smitten

I have been writing a daily blog for almost five years.

I started out with too many words a day, trying to paint

a picture that had no flaws.

I eventually reduced the blog to 100 words, or less

per day and the challenge became to be able to convey

a complete idea in as few words as possible.

In April 2013, I took a thirty day challenge to write a poem

a day. I wrote three; a haiku, an elfje and a short poem.

As I begin this blog, having done some research into poetry,

I  am overwhelmed by the number of types of poems and the

complexities that make poetry unique and viable as an art form.

My contribution, practice, practice, practice, write a thousand,

do not stop to argue or edit, just write and hope that one day

a few might make enough sense, conform to a recognized standard,

or become know as my style, worthy of being shared with poetry

lovers throughout the world. If not worthy, at least I may have

let the words out of my head before it exploded.

Critiques welcomed…ME and the Boss

Poem:

winter chill

cold wind blows

plans are put on hold

chills from head to toes

nature uncontrolled

no one knows

family in distress

stay and play, or go

winter vacations

Stay warm…ME and the Boss
