“Poetry is a

deal of joy

and pain

and wonder,

with a dash

of the dictionary.”

Khalil Gibran

Haiku :

the English language

more than a quarter million

words that sometimes rhyme

Elfje :

mental images

beliefs, cognition, judgement

thoughts that are conveyed

Poem :  abab, cdcd, efef, gg      (sonnet)

there are people who can talk forever

and never say a thing

they think they are so clever

like a yo-yo on a string

up and down, up and down

the same thing over and over

around and around and around

never ending like a field of clover

the dictionary they believe

is only for the teacher

it is only lies that they know how to weave

maybe they should be a preacher

no dictionary needed, love knows how to melt

when the language of the heart can always be felt
