natures poetry

flora and fauna concur

birds sing her praises


the earth in rhythm

the universe will respond

a song of silence


we enjoy color

for each season has its own

a painted poem




each word has a voice of its own

no matter in which language spoken

its meaning trying to be known


poetry preys upon the sounds

stories hidden in the meanings

in meters or stanzas or rounds


most masters were very prolific

their works filling numerous tomes

many or most of those somnific


those poets whose famous lines people know

those versifiers the critics consider the greatest

they are all birds of a feather, albatross or crow


poems by the thousands each day have grown

what will determine whose will be well known
