I Go Mad

I don’t write

to empty

my mind,

I go mad.”

~  Lord Byron

Elfje:            (Cinquain)

looney tunes

off one’s rocker

lost touch with reality

Tanka:             5-7-5, 7-7

kindness starts at home

kindness is birthplace of love

be kind to neighbors

kindness becomes peace of mind

always be kind to yourself

only at participating outlets
some restrictions may apply
they call them disclosures
on me they are trying to get over

it’s the fine print that drives me crazy
would I read it if I weren’t so lazy
tried ignoring them, they won’t go away
does it really matter how much I weigh

are happy and kind positive assets
what does it take to pass emotional tests
will your nose grow if you tell a lie
right now I could use a piece of apple pie

poems written to teach and preach
everyone we know can use some of each
