The Veil Of Order

chaos must shimmer

through the veil

Poem:

.

ghost, goblins, ghouls, zombies
tis the season of the undead
movies based on scary stories
beware of the body without a head

door to door on all hallows’ eve
about the religious significance a little naive
the big kids would trick or treat
we knew everyone up and down the street

bed sheets for costumes, one size fits all
competing to get the biggest haul
candy and enough apples to make a pie
so much sugar I could really fly

times change, much trust has been lost
could we bring back the reason at any cost

Allhallowtide, Hallowtide, Allsaintstide, or the Hallowmas season,
is the triduum encompassing the Western Christian observances
of All Saints’ Eve (Halloween), All Saints’ Day (All Hallows’) and
All Souls’ Day, which last from 31 October to 2 November annually.
