The Silence Between Them

.

Notes

don’t make music

until you learn

to insert silence

between them.”

.

~ Ben Folds

.

Elfje:         (Cinquain)         classic: each word only one syllable

.

pause

one note

white keys, black keys

chords to make tune

rest

.

Haiku:     (5-7-5, nature and seasons the topic)

.

ice forms on the branch

winter arrival announced

last leaves fall to ground

.

Poem:

.

quiet the noisy mind
be amazed at what you will find
rare feelings called serenity and peace
appreciation of this world to increase

silence, God’s opportunity to talk
enjoyed while taking an evening walk
wind and waves provide the best music
natures company a nice therapeutic

it takes a friend to break the silence
one willing to give good guidance
two souls that enjoy a mutual trust
a beautiful union sprinkled with angel dust

walk softly but carry a big love
quietly enjoy the blessings from above
