A Battle Of Wits

I would

challenge you

to a battle of wits,

but I see you are

the road to happiness is paved with a light heart
a few good habits will give you a start

“what, me worry” said Alfred E. Newman
“the buck stops here” said President Truman

a light heart tries not to worry
a light heart is rarely in a hurry

anger is just one letter short of danger
angles like to disguise themselves as a stranger

a light heart is never the avenger
a light heart loves the Lone Ranger

resentments are an unreasonable fear
self-pity makes our whole world unclear

a light heart has the courage
a light heart will not disparage

be kind, be happy
be loving, be happy
be patient, be happy
be tolerant, be happy
be forgiving, be happy

happiness is being the person
your dog thinks you are
or the person your God wants you to be
a happy light heart will know how to agree

ME and the Boss
As soon as one tries to disagree, to argue, they are sabotaging their own happiness.

The main principles underneath each of the 12 steps of AA:

  1. Acceptance
  2. Hope
  3. Faith
  4. Courage
  5. Honesty
  6. Willingness
  7. Humility
  8. Responsibility
  9. Love
  10. Discipline
  11. Awareness/Growth
  12. Service

These principles, along with a practice of pausing and reflecting on them,
can give us the ability to be happy and to cope with whatever we may go through.
