About merb010

Spring Hill, FL, United States Two nice old folks just hanging out, not hurting a bug or anything larger. The years have been kind to us and we now we are enjoying our golden years reading and writing. We are grateful for the God given talents that we now use to help others.

Lost Vocabularies

“I dream of

lost vocabularies

that might express

some of what

we no longer can.”

― Jack Gilbert

Elfje: Cinquain
do tell
so to speak
a small chit chat

Lune: 5,3,5
hearts that beat true blue
love that grows
stronger every day
time for an unicorn revisit
pink clouds and rainbows to elicit
opening the mind to a happy fantasy
imagining will never be blasphemy

real scene or mental image
mostly inherited by matrilineage
painted on the child’s bedroom wall
a stream flowing towards the waterfall

the whole outdoors your living room
designed using your nom de plume
flora selected to support more fauna
birds and bees and maybe an iguana

colors selected to reflect the viewers mood
from dark, heavy to light and renewed
no ghost, goblins or aliens allowed
jubilation by heavenly sprites endowed

praying for the world to enjoy levity
your attitude is yours, we seek indemnity

ME and the Boss

“Oh phosphorescence.
Now there’s a word
to lift your hat to…
To find that

that light within —
is the genius behind

― William Luce

Elfje: ….. Classic: each word only one syllable. Cinquain
well lit
a clear white
see in the dark

Senryu 5x7x5
happy with myself
not depressed or lonely
a good attitude

there was an accident the other day
we hope nothing serious we pray
someone’s life will forever be changed
things once taken for granted now estranged

finger pointing, blame, whose fault was it
can I remember, honestly, hypocrite
insurance company will twist the facts
something about the wording in the contracts

quick settlement or all the way to trial
meanwhile, a total change in one’s lifestyle
in the end it’s all about the money
a golden egg laid by the easter bunny

and through it all the indelible curse
the limp that hurts and only gets worse
ME and the Boss
