is often hidden
in us a dormant
poet,
always young
and alive.”

Poem:

Good words we want to hear
Celebrating the best of times
Knowing we have nothing to fear
Listening to the church bell chimes
Wonderful news that makes the heart sing
Hopes and dreams that all come true
After winters despair a beautiful spring
Watching the flowers come into view
Mother Nature donning her finest
Love and kindness fills every soul
All of the world at it’s brightest
To make the mind and spirit whole
Being the person God wants us to be
Friendship needs no words between you and me

thank you soldier
I live a life or ease
with epaulets upon your shoulder
my freedom is your guarantee
from the American Revolution
to today’s police action
you defend the Constitution
democracy your sanction
only one day a year we celebrate you
that effort certainly pales compared to what you do
today we thank you on our blog
hoping it will become an eternal epilogue
Thanks to all who sacrificed and all who serve.
