Nothing Is Always Something

.

“Don’t you just love

poetry that gives you

a crinkly feeling

up and down your back?”

.

~ L.M. Montgomery,

Anne of Green Gables

.

Elfje: (Cinquain)

.

nothing
to see
with eyes closed
use the other senses
something

.

Haiku:

.

welcomed steady rain
water to refresh the earth
giving life to all

.

Poem:

.

nothing is always something
seeing is never believing
fingers and heart are touching
hearing can be very deceiving

words can be extremely confusing
know it alls will say anything
accidental puns are amusing
blessings reside in the fairy ring

love can mean so many things
a kindness is never wasted
bells toll when the angel gets its wings
when will peace be created

something does not have to be an action
nothing can give rise to moral satisfaction

Nameless Graces

.

“Music resembles poetry,

in each are nameless graces

which no methods teach,

and which a master hand

alone can reach.”

.

― Alexander Pope

melodic

fingers dance

strings respond accordingly

tuned instrument, dynamic virtuoso

.

Haiku:

.

sunrise muted haze

the master hand of nature

sunset brilliant blaze

Poem:

.

dimpled dancer Lilly
acting kind of silly
with talents endowed
excited the saloon crowd

ambition consumed her
practiced becoming a poseur
married to gain status
climbed upon the political apparatus

power became her passion
her persona she did refashion
she changed her name to Hillary
her soul bought by the big artillery

her ego convinced her she had won
she actually believed she was a nun
the electorate saw through her scam
she failed in their final exam

there is more yet to unfold
will the true story ever be told
has her foundation received its last donation
will what she deserves ever come to fruition

maybe she should just become Lilly again
and cease giving everyone a rectal pain
stop being the pot calling the kettle black
time to give Bill his deserved kickback

Gulliver struggled with the lilliputian
American’s their moral prostitution
how will democracy ever survive
surly it will not be by watching The Five

religious or not , say a prayer
hope will find a cure . . . somewhere
