“Trees are poems
the earth writes
upon the sky,
We fell them down
and turn them into paper,
That we may record
our emptiness.”
.
~ Kahlil Gibran

Elfje: (Cinquain)
.
barren
devoid of
big empty space
nothing to sneeze at
void

Lune: 5 / 3 / 5

over extended
exhausted
giving it ones all

Poem:
.
get your head out of the sand
do you think that you’re a one man band
believe that you will never crash land
do you always want more than the Bird-in-Hand*
you’re a wanna be guru, the blind leading the blind
did you ever consider having a balanced mind
to a life below average you have resigned
know that even the sane are one of a kind
for you hope and faith are still achievable
miracles that bring about change are believable
there hasn’t been a soul that was irretrievable
in God’s world there is nothing inconceivable
time to put the ego in its place
name the bad habits you need to erase
give friends and family their needed space
ask a Higher Power for His grace
be willing to say I do not know
don’t believe your own braggadocio
learn to go with the flow
look up, see the rainbow
be kind to yourself, offer lenity
provide for yourself every amenity
hope and faith, a life of peace and serenity
gratitude for having a new identity

“You talk
when you cease
to be at peace
with your thoughts.”
.
.
― Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

Elfje:
.
silence
eyes closed
thoughts take time
memories and dreams unfold
peace
.
Haiku: (My way … 7-5-7)
.
work the garden in silence
spring thoughts create dreams
flowers and ideas bloom
.
Haiku: (traditional 5-7-5)
.
talk grows out of fear
that someone may read your thoughts
disrupt the silence
.
POEM: No Talking
.
nature does not need to talk
a universal language espoused
nature displays her artists smock
all of the souls senses aroused
love exists in the silence
talking confounds the moment
feelings masked or showing defiance
hiding the intent like a poet
the small mind can not remain quiet
small talk hides the unfounded fears
trying to be as clever as a Broadway hit
always trying to one up on your peers
talking to oneself can be dangerous
noises to disturb ones serenity
peace of mind need not be adventurous
closing ones mouth can be heavenly
reticence keeps the heart from shrinking
try to quiet the noisy mind
be at peace with your thinking
talk only when you want to be kind.
