“Deep feeling
doesn’t make
for good poetry.
A way with language
would be a bit
of help.”
.
~ Thom Gunn

Elfje:
.
feel
sad, glad
write the words
does it make sense
poetry
.
Haiku:
.
bugs ate the blossoms
nature cares for every one
pests need to eat too
.
Poem:
.
happiness is a poem
feelings left open
stories to be told
opinions uncontrolled
from a to zed
the living and the dead
words come alive
ideas on overdrive
enjoy the effort
call it desert
and when it’s done
concede to fun
forever butterflies
smelly teas roses
affections displayed
hearts accolade
emotions showing
senses growing
read and write
connoisseurs delight
for good poetry
it was a way with language.
ME and the Boss

“A poem begins as
a lump in the throat,
a sense of wrong,
a homesickness,
a lovesickness.”
.
~ Robert Frost
.
Elfje:
anew
every ending
is a beginning
going who knows where
living
Haiku:
waiting seasons change
God said to enjoy this one
no waiting required
Elfje:
cooking
preparing food
enjoying the process
edible delights for all
satisfied
Haiku:
birds singing ‘thank you’
gratitude for just being
man always wants more
