Poem:
.
it is alright to let your mind travel to far away lands
trips to a fantasyland that no one else understands
just remember to come home from time to time
unless your chosen vocation is being a street mime
those who think they are in control call it a daydream
hopefully your trips are not too frequently upstream
beware of the romantic delusion that verges upon lust
better to dream being rich and building a charitable trust
is it only the sick whose fantasies become nightmares
or was it what you ate that made you unawares
what of the seer whose mind cultivates premonitions
can anyone do it under the right set of conditions
must you make reservations to take these trips
must you pack a bag if you’re joining the apocalypse
let this rhyme stimulate your mind
and may all of your trips be one of a kind

afraid to emote
someone may laugh at me
stuff unknown feelings
a life lived in confusion
was it love or lust ? ? ?

Poem:

chaos ruling
politics above common sense
who do they think they are fooling
can anyone see through the pretence
police action, conflict, a war by any name
always has the other side to blame
kind thoughts dissipating into thin air
real compassion is truly rare
words arranged and rearranged like a flower bouquet
too many choices, like on a Swedish buffet
a literal smorgasbord ending with a chocolate fountain
the next challenge always a bigger, higher mountain
was there anyone who knew what
or was it just another rhyming couplet
the poem is always forcing the rhyme
while our lives are running out of time
it is only a problem, if you make it one
if anything at all makes sense, you have already won
