In Search Of Truth

.

“In search of Truth

the hopeful zealot goes,

But all the sadder tums,

the more he knows!”

imagination, hallucination and reality
every souls chance to make whoopee
without a hole is it still a bagel
who is to judge if one is unstable
who doesn’t want their name on the marquee
without a string can you make a cat’s cradle

such fun to let the mind wonder
how many good ideas are six foot under
ways to catch a bigger mouse
how to please the upset spouse
what would it take to make everyone a lover
will only the lucky find their own lighthouse

must all stories begin once upon a time
is it still a poem if it does not rhyme
which liberal determines what is politically correct
a language with which the lower class can not connect
is being stupid really a crime
or is this the way elitist show disrespect

when the rich liberals control the media
pushing their influence onto Wikipedia
who is to determine what is free speech
colleges telling the goonies what to preach and teach
publishing only their views in disguised cyclopedia
jealousy aimed at others they want to impeach

the uneducated want Big Brother to provide everything for free
no one takes notice to the demise of the bourgeoisie
egoes and power satisfy the elected
constitutional law completely neglected
no thought for what the future would or could be
a world where the word compromise will never be perfected

the mentally ill were once institutionalized
biased news meant to have the ignorant demoralized
how important is it anyway
this too shall pass away
by your vote let the elected be antagonized
avoid the news, think for yourself and have a great day

Poets Of Old

.

“Still must the poet as of old,
In barren attic bleak and cold,
Starve, freeze, and fashion verses to
Such things as flowers and song and you;

Still as of old his being give
In Beauty’s name, while she may live,
Beauty that may not die as long
As there are flowers and you and song.”

Poem:

.

wildflowers blooming beside the road
beauty by Mother Nature sowed
bird and bee feast on flower and seed
arrogant man coined the word weed

colors to compete with the perfect rainbow
a verdant lush covers the yonder meadow
how much we miss speeding along at sixty
you failed to see the wave of the garden pixie

a good sneeze clears the nose of the pollen
mud puddles were made for children to play in
sadly all of the eyes are glued to the video screen
selfies galore as they practice being the drama queen

if they only knew that evolution will always win
that wildflowers and weeds survived the original sin
