does your life fit your personality

can you claim a dual modality
how well do you handle strife
can’t answer any of the questions above
who really cares

against all odds

up and down
emotions on a merry-go-round
reaching for the golden ring
riding on the yoyo string
good times bring the happy
setbacks deliver the crappy
the sick have absolutely no control
no escape from their funky hole
the shrink guesses, then writes
good drugs dispensed to calm the nights
the crazy will misuse and abuse
trying to make sense of Mother Goose
the addictive personality blooms
inspiration for sad cartoons
depression brings on thoughts of suicide
neuroses ebbing and flowing with the tide
feelings of love totally abandoned
conscious reality touched at random
who knows how many quietly suffer
battling demons who are much tougher
patience and tolerance, more is learned each day
if man survives, a cure may be found, we pray
