looking, lost, trying to find fantasyland
this ugly, smelly reality I cannot stand
transport me to a faraway zone
let me hide by using a clone
let’s create a new space and call it Love
built with the blessings received from above
air and noise pollution may not exist
the sky above always rainbow kissed
soft melodies provided by the birds and the bees
herbal aromas wafting about on a fresh breeze
every trail and path lined with a display floral
the horizon represented by a bucolic mural
a sirens scream, a grieving mothers wail
back to earth, dreams wasted to no avail
a bang and a thud, everything used and abused
only the crazy from this world are excused
to cope, one must adjust the altitude
work hard at keeping a good attitude
let reality suck, if it must
let go, relax, in God you must trust

‘Writing is like sex.
First you do it for love,
then you do it for your friends,
and then you do it for money.”

watching the grass grow
one of nature’s miracles
interdependent
cows rummage and produce milk
humans steal it to nourish

Poem:
.
a babbling brook fed by melting snow
reflecting silver from the full moon’s glow
the nightingale’s song providing harmony
the hoot owls rhythm fitting in perfectly
nature does abhor man’s interference
his scars diminishing her appearance
burning and plowing causing a blight
pollution blocking the vital sunlight
man’s forest of concrete and steel
dams, locks and levees most surreal
environmentalist fighting a losing battle
money confusing the issue with psychobabble
prognosticators using the magic eight ball
only God really knows what will befall
let’s live today to its fullest potential
put generosity first, that is essential
be kind, be loving, be patient and tolerant
allow your Higher Power to be preponderant
repeating the prayers from a bended knee
living a life; happy, joyous and free
