memories are now just the good feelings

much to late to search for life’s meanings
his whole world now but a small oasis

some longtimers glad to wear a smile
others scowl and are mad at the world
the happy with their God can reconcile
the mean live with a heart that is gnarled

tempt the fates, make survival your choice
the wise know that life is an attitude
mean and ugly will never have a chance to rejoice
