remember the poem with the made up words
emulating e.e. cummings was so absurd
the story about the bird who thought he was bold
the real truth, whole truth, can now be told
the bird had wings but no imagination
we think he was influenced by a strong libation
instead of thinking, he should have flew
that night he was the main ingredient in the stew
now he is part of a real poem with words that rhyme
and the star of a story that is true some of the time
poems that take readers to an imaginary paradise
desert first is peaches and cream with sugar and spice
poetry that puts the mind into motion
the sounds of waves on the shore of the ocean
poetic license to create something new
hopefully read by more than just you

out of sight
only God knows
in between the lines
concealment

lies purposely told
protecting someone’s feelings
hiding liars guilt
no beneficial reason
the only good is the truth
.

stories told to amuse
stories told to bemuse
I found the fountain of youth
the only good is chocolate
flavors from soup to nuts
promises, no if ands or buts
temptations from a secret closet
the only good is winning
it does help if you are lucky
anything to avoid the yucky
honesty helps you prevent sinning
the only bad is dying
be a winner, tell the truth, eat chocolate
and enjoy this life
