“And this gray spirit
yearning in desire
To follow knowledge
like a sinking star,
Beyond the utmost bound
of human thought. ”

amazed to see dancing elephants
not your usual vision of elegance
minds that create wonderful fantasy
learning your own meaning of insanity
excessive pride leads to vanity
is there really such a thing as normal
the happiest are those who live informal
the young do not have an exclusive on vernal
forget resentments, let go and let God
there isn’t a soul that is not flawed
to those who are due, stand and applaud
the winners always think positive
leaders communicate in the demonstrative
you can never be too old to be cognitive
for only the best, profound respect is reverent
gloriously unique, everyone is different
know that this world is absolutely magnificent
awe struck by the breaching of whales
a joy to be entertained by fantastic tales

pixie dust covered the snails trails
do fairies visit the great blue whales
is there another world down the rabbit hole
does Scandinavia exclusively own the troll
the mind wanders back to the children’s stories
ideas incubated in mad writers laboratories
can cows actually jump over the moon
did the fork really run away with the spoon
what does it mean to tickle the fancy
would we want to change places with Clancy*
what pictures and words stroke the imagination
could we survive on an outback station
stop thinking, don’t limit the dream
ignore the trite, invent your own theme
write, paint, dance, express yourself
you may even pretend to be an elf
stay young, don’t be tied to convention
what do they know of your pretension
a laugh a day keeps the shrink away
growing older is not merely child’s play
time to write a moral with a juxtaposition
help me save the world, it is my mission
