“Don’t underestimate
the value of Doing Nothing,
of just going along,
listening to all the things
you can’t hear,
and not bothering.”

ignore
brush aside
disregard intentionally
pay no attention to
cold-shoulder

Haiku:

full moon lights the night
crickets serenade summer
hoot owl calls echo
.
Poem:
.
who’s bothering you
what’s bothering you
when’s it bothering
where’s it bothering
no bother
who’s bugging you
what’s bugging you
when’s it bugging
where’s it bugging
no bugs
who’s irritating you
what’s irritating you
when’s it irritating
where’s it irritating
no irritation
maybe it’s you
could be you
learn to accept
try a new precept
just forget the why
just forget the how
don’t let it bother you
don’t let it bug you
don’t let it irritate you
be happy, joyous and free
be the person God wants you to be

“To be nobody but yourself
in a world which is doing
its best day and night
to make you like everybody else
means to fight the hardest battle
which any human being can fight
and never stop fighting.”

unique
just you
like nobody else
one of a kind
individual

clear azure blue skies
aurora borealis

Poem:

so average that it hurts
been there, have the t-shirts
still seeking a unique niche
with class, no bawdy kitsch
the snobs feign indifference
the hick straight out of Deliverance
the middle class can’t afford to be rich
there is no bottom to the poor man’s ditch
blue is a color that I will not bleed
enough pocket money to buy some chicken feed
too lackadaisical or just too lazy to succeed
mother always called me her bad weed
I guess I’ll just have to be me
second cousin to the monkey in the tree
choosing to either agree or disagree
living a life happy, joyous and free
