“We have too many
high-sounding words,
and too few actions
that correspond
with them.”
.
~ Abigail Adams

that demonstrates the least action:
politician”

inspiration from Mother Nature
kudos to the Great Creator
there is a God today and it is not me
immensely grateful for all that I see
trees dressed out in their summer greens
nest of birds and squirrels complete the scenes
for extra drama add the spanish moss
the cuckoo will let you know who’s boss
tree rings divulge the weathers history
what they saw will always be a mystery
did Johnny Appleseed wear a pan for a hat
the bluebird of happiness stopped for a chitchat
blue skies and sunshine, a perfect day
self-quarantined, behind the window I’ll stay

“Poems can be found,
if they’re looked for,
addressing every realm
of what in our lives
can feel broken….
Every truly good poem
has in it, somewhere,
an anchor dropped down into wholeness.”

Poem: (madrigal)

would I, could I, should I lie
only God knows the real truth
those bad habits we learned as a youth
a habitual liar makes me want to cry
repeating a fib is very uncouth
would I, could I, should I lie
only God knows the real truth
if my nose grows, will I be the bad guy
to undress the lie will take a real sleuth
as painful as pulling a wisdom tooth
would I, could I, should I lie
only God knows the real truth
those bad habits we learned as a youth
