“Poetry will die

when love and pain

cease to exist.”

.

― Kellie Elmore

.

darkness will cover

my cheeks blushing red color

but not passions heat

.

darkness will cover

the lust of my cold black heart

self satisfaction

.

don’t they feel the heat

my cheeks blushing red color

my cacoethes

.

knowing lust not love

we cool to reality

but not passions heat

.

* A creative alteration of the original Troiku form.
In this form the first stanza shares the first line of the origina haiku.
The second line is the middle line of the second stanza.
The third line is the last line in the last section.
